Sustainable Modes of Transport Strategy 2017

Decision to approve a Council Policy / Strategy Document promoting sustainable modes of transport in schools.

When will the decision be taken

Purpose of the report

The report is a statutory requirement as ordered by the Department of Education as part of the Education and Information Act of 2006.

This document outlines what each Local Authority is doing in order to promote sustainable transport to pupils of compulsory school age.

Documents to be submitted to the decision maker

One copy of the finalised document will be submitted, however will exclude graphic design which will occur following its approval. This has been circulated amongst Public Health, Education, Highways and Road Safety to ensure it complies with current practices.

This will eventually become a publically available document and no confidential information is presented within it- no legal or financial issues are therefore anticipated.
