Request a copy of a marriage certificate

You can get copies of marriage certificates from the Register Office.

You can either:

• visit the Register Office - Monday to Friday, 9am to 3.45pm, or 
• call 0191 424 6350 - Monday to Friday, 9am to 2.30pm

 Appointments are not needed.

To find a record from a marriage register you need to provide us with the following information:

• name of the church, chapel or register office
• date of the wedding
• name of one or both parties who were married
