About this course

This is a core training course for those work specifically for the adults' workforce.

This course builds on the Safeguarding adults From Abuse and will cover in more detail the categories and definitions of abuse.

The aim of this course is to give participants an opportunity to look in closer detail at the ten areas of abuse included in the Care Act.


Learning Outcomes

  • Define adult abuse
  • Recognise the ten categories of abuse
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse
  • Handle disclosure and take immediate action
  • Know when to report abuse
  • Consider capacity, consent and confidentiality in the safeguarding process

This course is ran by Russ Saunders, Learning and Development Advisor/ Member of the multi-agency Pool of Trainers.


Who can attend

Anyone working with children, adults and families in South Tyneside can apply for a place.
