Regeneration and Environment Board
The Regeneration and Environment Board will take ownership of the following strategic outcomes set out in the South Tyneside Vision:
"A Regenerated South Tyneside with Increased Business and Jobs"
The Board will achieve these outcomes though the following objectives:
- Support and develop our key sectors to increase economic prosperity
- Attract, grow and retain business, and promote the Borough to investors
- Act as strategic interface between the South Tyneside Partnership including the North Eastern LEP and others
- Regenerate the borough by improving our town centres, business centres and creating sustainable neighbourhoods
- Educate, retain and attract young people and raise their aspirations through improved skills and training in addition to enhancing the employability of the existing workforce
- Maximise the opportunity of the riverside assets, foreshore and the A19 Strategic Transport corridor
- Enhance our Tourism offer
The Regeneration and Environment Board maintains close links with the North East Local Enterprise Partnership and the North East Combined Authority.
The Board is chaired by Margaret Fay CBE and OBE, Former Chair of One North East and George Mansbridge, Corporate Director, Regeneration and Environment, STC is the lead officer for the Board.
