About this course

This training course is to familiarise staff with the principles, purpose and procedures of multi-agency risk assessment, multi-agency public protection arrangements and multi-agency tasking and coordination.


Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session participants will be able to:

  • Understand the MARAC process
  • Explain how the various agencies contribute to MARAC
  • Recognise the underpinning legislation and principles
  • Apply the multi-agency Risk Indicator Checklist and make a referral
  • Understand the meeting processes and contribute to the MARAC action planning process
  • Understand the MAPPA processes in terms of management of sexual, violent and dangerous persons
  • Understand the MATAC processes in terms of safeguarding adults and children at risk of domestic abuse and to help reduce the offending of domestic abuse perpetrators

This course is ran by Russ Saunders, Learning and Development Adviser / Member of the multi-agency Pool of Trainers.
