Aims

  • To equip people with the skills and knowledge to recognise potential abuse
  • To provide the confidence and information to be able to make an appropriate safeguarding referral

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session participants will:

  • Understand South Tyneside's Safeguarding Adults Procedures
  • Define Adult Abuse
  • Recognise the different categories of abuse
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse
  • Handle disclosure
  • Understand capacity, consent and confidentiality
