Overview

Delivering industry recognised training to help you start careers in engineering, manufacturing and related industries.

The apprenticeships cover a range of sectors and career pathways.


What is on offer

The following apprenticeships are available.

Engineering

A paid apprenticeship with a company for 42 months with three main components.  

It includes foundation training at Seta for 6 to 9 months, depending on the technical area you're looking to develop.

This course is a 37 hours working week, starting at 8am to 4pm, Monday till Thursday and 8am to 1am on a Friday.

This will take place at both Seta and the employers' workplace.

Business administration, production and warehousing

These apprenticeships take place over 18 months in a local company within the relevant sectors.

Learning will take place within the workplace.

All apprenticeships will be completed over a 37-hour working week.


How to apply

Apply online at SETA: apprentice form

Within 24 hours (or Monday if you apply after 12 on a Friday) you will receive an email from SETA. This will ask you to do two things.

  1. Complete an online assessment test (details will be given)
  2. Register for the online CV writing / interview techniques workshop (link will be given)

You will need to complete an assessment test and CV writing / interview techniques workshop.

You will then be invited in for a socially distanced interview to discuss what sort of apprenticeship you are looking for and what areas you are willing to travel to.
