This a summary of the Mental Health Needs Assessment, which has been developed for NHS South of Tyne and Wear (SoTW) to:
- provide information on current and future mental health and well-being needs of the SoTW (Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland area) in order to improve emotional health
- inform the SoTW commissioners (who arrange contracts to provide health services for the population within their area) and others about where services and interventions need to be focused to achieve better mental health and well-being outcomes
- inform public mental health strategies for each locality and SoTW as a whole.
