Better outcomes for children, young people and their families is at the centre of everything we do.

The YOS helps the young people they work with to get access to the right provision for physical, sexual, emotional and mental health.

An example of this is the Senior Mental Health Practitioner that our local Primary Care Trust employ within the YOS.

The practitioner provides consultation, advice and support to YOS colleagues.

They also provide an assessment service for young people referred by YOS staff.

The practitioner is part of the wider Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), acting as a link between the YOS and the NHS.
