International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP)

Located on the border between South Tyneside and Sunderland, the International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP) is a 10 year regeneration project on 150 hectares of land next to Nissan.

The IAMP is designed to attract private sector investment and 7,500 jobs in advanced manufacturing in the automotive, energy, rail, aerospace, electronics and pharmaceutical sectors.

The project, a partnership between South Tyneside Council and Sunderland Council, has completed its first phase and has sold all its developable land.

The second phase of the project will involve the widening of the A1290 through the site and the required highways infrastructure to open-up 1.8million square feet of space for advanced manufacturing on the 'Northern Employment Area' in South Tyneside.
