Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS)

You may be asked to complete a Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) before you start work at South Tyneside Council.

You will need a DBS check if you will be working with vulnerable groups including children.

A DBS is a check of your criminal records.

A DBS certificate lasts 3 years.

You will need to complete a recheck after 3 years.
