Cleadon Flood Alleviation Scheme

During heavy rainfall, surface water flows can severely damage properties and businesses.

The Cleadon Flood Alleviation Scheme will help to protect local residents and their properties from the damaging effects of surface water flooding.

The work is now complete and 130 properties are now better protected from flooding.

Civil Engineers, BAM Nuttall, and Designers, Royal Haskoning DHV, carried out the works for this scheme.

Cost

The scheme cost £1.2million and was part funded by the Environment Agency, the Department for Education and South Tyneside Council.
