Report a missed bin

Before reporting a missed collection

The missed bin collection service is temporarily unavailable.

Please continue to put out all bins every day until one has been collected. For more information, see waste disposal industrial action.

We are sorry if we have accidentally missed your household, recycling or garden waste collection.

Before you report a missed bin collection:

  • make sure that you have the correct bin out on the correct day (we empty your bin once a week on an alternate weekly cycle - one week waste, one week recycling) - check your bin collection dates
  • put your bin outside by 7.30am on collection day
  • please leave the bin at the edge of your property in an obvious place so our crews can find it easily
  • our collection crew will attach a tag to the handle of your blue recycling bin if we find incorrect items inside - check what can go in your recycling bin
  • we may empty your blue recycling bin at a different time to your inner caddy, on the same day (so that paper is collected separately, without mixing it with the other material)
  • make sure the lid is closed (if the lid isn't closed we will either not empty the bin, or will remove bags to allow the lid to close)
  • please leave the bin at the edge of your property in an obvious place so our crews can find it easily
  • we cannot collect any extra waste alongside your bin

Please note that we will not return to empty your bin before your next collection day if:

  • your bin was not out for collection when we visited your street
  • the wrong bin was presented
  • the bin contained items or materials we don't accept and has been stickered
