Content:

This training will support you to:

• Make sense of Early Years data and use it to inform your next steps in provision
• Understand the Characteristics of Effective Learning - matching provision to pupil learning styles and children's interests
• Manage the curriculum-balancing the Early Years curriculum alongside Year 1 expectations
• Create environments to support learning
• Talk about children's learning & development with colleagues from your own and other settings

Expected Impact on Schools:

• Smooth transitions
• Year 1 curriculum built on pupil learning
• Environment and routines in Year 1 created to provide opportunities for children to apply and extend their knowledge
• The reception teacher has an opportunity to reflect on practice / inform provision for Year 1
