South Tyneside Council (A183 Coast Road, South Shields - 24 hour clearway) Order 2025

South Tyneside Council proposes to make an Order under Section 1 of and Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a 24 hour rural clearway on :-

A183 Coast Road both sides from a point 100 metres north west of its junction with Redwell Lane in a south easterly direction for a distance of 1.35km
Redwell Lane, both sides from its junction with A183 Coast Road for a distance of 45 metres in a south westerly direction

Full details of these proposals are contained in the draft order which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at the Town Hall at the address below.

If you wish to raise an objection, express support or make any other observations about these proposals, you must make them in writing to the Council's Legal Services Department at the address below or by using the same email address above by the 14 April 2025.
