Overview
Disability North are running free training courses for personal assistants to help support a disabled person to live the life they chose.
The training will aim to:
- explain what disabled people need from the personal assistants they employ
- point you in the right direction to find your dream job
- be fun and engaging
- make sure you leave the room full of confidence
The course will focus on real life situations that will prepare you to be amazing in a job where every day is different, enjoyable and rewarding. It will also go through:
- the roll of a Personal Assistant (PA)
- different types of PA
- connecting and getting communication right
- what makes it work
- equality, diversity, inclusion, confidentiality and safety
Resources such as notebooks, ongoing support, certificate of attendance, and more will also be available.
