Voting phishing emails

We are aware that phishing emails may have been sent to electors asking for documentary evidence to process the register to vote application.

The phishing emails come from electoral@regiser-to-vote.electoral.agency and mimic a genuine request asking you to provide documents to verify your address or identity.

Please be careful and not to click any links or respond to any emails from this address. You can also report this to the National Cyber Security Centre.

Genuine emails

Voters may have recently received a genuine email asking them to re-apply for their postal vote, this came from stc.electoral.registration@notifications.service.gov.uk

If you have recently re-applied for your postal vote you will receive an acknowledgement email, or may receive an email asking for evidence of your identity for you application for a postal vote. These emails are genuine and will come from elections@notifications.service.gov.uk

Genuine emails will also come from elections@southtyneside.gov.uk, or from a southtyneside.gov.uk email.
