Location of tree(s) to be removed

The decision has been made to remove 2 oak trees to the rear of 6 Berkley Close, Boldon Colliery.

The trees are being removed to protect the property.

Further to the Public Consultation which closed on 2 December 2024, the Council has received 2 responses to the Public Notice. The responses requested further information.

Following the inspection of the trees by the Tree Officer and the Highways Officer, the difficult decision has been made to remove the trees.

The Council considers there are no viable long-term engineering or tree management solutions available as an alternative to removing the trees.

Removal of the tree(s)

The trees will be removed within 2 years from 2 December 2024, but no sooner than 28 days from this date.

In line with the Council's Tree and Woodland Policy, replacement trees will be planted in an appropriate location.
