Decision notice of tree removal - Wadham Terrace

Location of tree(s) to be removed

The decision has been made to remove 6 field maple trees at 22 Wadham Terrace, South Shields.

Reason for removal

The trees are being removed for property protection reasons.

Further to the Public Consultation which closed on 2 December 2024, the Council has received 0 responses to the Public Notice.

Following the inspection of the trees by the Tree Officer and the Highways Officer, the difficult decision has been made to remove the trees.

The Council considers there are no viable long-term engineering or tree management solutions available as an alternative to removing the trees.

Removal of the tree(s)

The trees will be removed within 2 years from 2 December 2024, but no sooner than 28 days from this date.

In line with the Council's Tree and Woodland Policy, replacement trees will be planted in an appropriate location.
