Overview

Our current Gambling Act Policy has been in place since January 2022.

This sets out a statement of principles we follow and use to determine applications from a variety of betting and gaming premises and facilities.

The policy considers the key 3 licensing objectives to:

  • prevent gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime
  • ensure that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way
  • protect children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling

We are currently updating our Gambling Act Policy and would like to hear your views.

What we would like to hear about

We want to know if there are any changes or additions to the current policy that should be considered.

For example, are there any local issues associated with gambling premises which are not already addressed that you feel should be included.

You can view the current policy at:

Gambling Act Policy 2022 - 2025

Please note that this consultation does not include web based, on-line gambling, or any aspects of advertising or promotion.

These are the responsibility of the Gambling Commission so we're not seeking your views on these as part of this consultation.
