Great North Run: Parking prices
Parking prices will be more expensive on the day of the Great North Run (Sunday 8 September 2024). Below are the updated tariffs for each car park in South Shields.
Charges for car parking permits will stay the same.
Foreshore car parks
Current price: £1.20 per hour, £6 all day
New price (Sun 8 Sept 2024): £10 all day

- Pier Head Car and Coach Park (Cash only)
- Pier Parade Car and Coach Park (Cash only)
- South Promenade North Car Park (Cash only)

- The Dragon Car Park (Overflow) (Card only)
- Trow Quarry Car Park (Cash only)
- Whitburn Bents Car Park (Cash only)
Town Centre car parks
Current price: 5p per 5 minutes for the 1st hour and then £1 per hour after. £4 all day.
New price (Sun 8 Sept 2024): 5p per 5 minutes for the 1st hour and £1 per hour after. £10 all day.
