Overview

South Tyneside Council and Sunderland City Council are preparing a new Area Action Plan (AAP) to replace the current International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP) AAP.

We need to update the AAP:

  • to make sure it is in line with the recently announced North East Investment Zone
  • to improve the flexibility of the document to make the most of any new inward investment opportunities

Between 29 July and 23 September 2024 we carried out a consultation on the first draft of the new plan (known as Regulation 18).

Both councils have considered comments (representations) received, along with other material planning considerations.

The draft IAMP AAP has now been updated into a Regulation 19 draft document.

South Tyneside Council and Sunderland City Council are holding a six week public consultation to get your thoughts on the proposals and inviting representations to be submitted on its 'soundness'.

The consultation will start on 31 March 2025 and close on 12 May 2025.

For more information on the current AAP, see the International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP) Area Action Plan.
