South Tyneside Council (Delaval Court Area, South Shields 20MPH) Order 2024

South Tyneside Council proposes to make an Order under Section 84 of and Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The effect of the Order will be to reduce the speed limit to 20mph on:

  • Byron Street, South Shields
  • Chichester Place, South Shields
  • Rear of Chichester Road numbers 48 to 138, South Shields
  • Darras Court, South Shields
  • Rear of Dean Road numbers 66 to 186, South Shields
  • Delaval Court, South Shields
  • Derwentwater Terrace, South Shields
  • Rear of Imeary Street numbers 9 to 211, South Shields
  • John Clay Street, South Shields
  • Kenton Court, South Shields
  • Laygate, South Shields
  • Marsden Street, South Shields
  • Milton Street, South Shields
  • Rear of Milton Street, South Shields
  • Newburn Court, South Shields
  • Ryton Court, South Shields
  • Shakespeare Street, South Shields
  • Wawn Street, South Shields
  • Rear of Wawn Street numbers 42 to 62, South Shields
  • West George Potts Street from its junction with Chichester Road for a distance of 45 metres in an easterly direction, South Shields
  • West Moffett Street, South Shields
  • West Stainton Street, South Shields
  • West Stevenson Street, South Shields

Full details of these proposals are contained in the draft order which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at the Town Hall at the address below.
