Overview

The Council works with contractors to maintain hedges and shrubs in public areas across the borough.

There is approximately 400,000 square meters of shrubs and 20,000 liner metres of hedging to maintain.

Rose and flower beds throughout the area are also managed by our contractors.

When do we do this work

We carry out activity between March and November.

  • Shrub bed maintenance: 9 times a year
  • Hedge cutting: 2 times a year
  • Rose beds: 10 times a year

Summer flower beddings are installed from June to November.

Winter flower beddings are installed from November to May.
