Overview
The Council works with contractors to carry out up to three weed treatments in neighbourhoods across South Tyneside every year.
The treatments are delivered by a vehicle with digital technology designed to minimise application. This means that we only treat areas where there is evidence of growth.
After the application, areas are revisited and where necessary weeds are removed.
When we treat weeds
We treat weeds between March and October, but schedules can change because of weather.
