Overview

You can book camping at Bents Park over the Great North Run weekend (Friday 5 September to midday on Monday 8 September 2025).


Costs

For those who haven't pre-booked, walk-ins may be available throughout the weekend.

You will be charged for a minimum of 2 nights.

For example, if you only stay on the Saturday, you will still be charged for 2 nights.

£24.50 per unit, per night.
You will be charged for a minimum of 2 nights (£49).
This includes 2 people and 1 vehicle.

Tents, caravans, and motorhomes are included.

Extra cars£10 per vehicle, per night.
You will be charged for a minimum of 2 nights (£20).
Awning or gazebo£8 per night.
You will be charged for a minimum of 2 nights (£16).
Extra people (aged 14 years and over)£9 per person per night.
You will be charged for a minimum of 2 nights (£18).
Children aged 13 years and youngerNo extra charge.

Dogs are allowed on the campsite. They must be kept on a lead. 


Facilities

Facilities at the campsite will include:

  • Onsite toilets
  • Places for drinking water
  • A waste disposal area, for emptying your toilets. Toilets to be cleaned at the waste disposal point.

You will not have:

  • Access to electricity
  • Shower facilities on site. You can use showers at Haven Point for £1 (5-minute walk away).

Book camping for the Great North Run

You can make a booking from April 2025. 

You will not be able to book a pitch once we reach full capacity.

You can book one pitch per form. To complete another pitch you will need to complete another form.

To book a pitch on behalf of someone else, enter their details when completing the form

All bookings are non-refundable.

Campsite guidelines

  1. A warden will be on site during daylight hours and early evening to help campers with their bookings and the location of their pitch.
  2. Signs will be in place for waste disposal, rubbish, fresh water etc.
  3. Report to the camp warden in the site office before setting up your pitch.
  4. Camping tags will be issued by the camp warden and must be displayed clearly:
    • Caravans - in a window facing out
    • Tents - on the outer zip
  5. All campers must be courteous to other campers. 
  6. No music to be played after 9.30pm.
  7. Dogs must be always on a lead. 
  8. Although we will have a staffing and security presence at all times over the weekend, please note that all belongings are left at the owner's own risk. 
  9. A set of jump leads will be available in the site office if needed. South Tyneside Council staff will not be liable for any damage caused to vehicles.

Fire safety

  1. Please leave at least 10 feet between units. 
  2. No naked flames to be used inside tents. 
  3. Fire points are clearly marked at 2 locations on the field.  
  4. Gas bottles should be stored outside the units and must be fit for purpose. 
  5. No generators allowed. 
  6. No stoves or BBQs to be used directly on the grass.
