Review of polling districts, places and stations
Overview
South Tyneside Council carried out a review of the existing polling districts, places and stations in the Borough.
The review was completed at a meeting of Full Council on 18 January 2024.
The Council carried out a consultation and invited proposals or suggestions (representations) from interested groups, as well as comments from residents.
The consultation period closed on Friday 3 November 2023.
Aim of the review
The aim of the review is to make sure that:
- all electors have reasonable and practicable facilities for voting, and
- as far as is reasonable and practicable, polling stations are accessible to all electors, including those who are disabled.
