Overview
South Tyneside Works provide a study programme to prepare the next generation of teaching assistants.
What is on offer
The 9-month Study programme consists of a mixture of taught sessions in the centre and direct experience in the classroom through placements.
Delivery will take place at South Shields Business Works and placements will be sourced locally.
You will attend up to 4 days per week from 9:30am to 3pm.
You will complete a L2 Teaching Assistant qualification alongside English and Maths functional skills if needed.
Employability skills will be embedded throughout the programme, you will have the opportunity to complete a qualification in Special Educational Needs.
You will complete a placement in a local education setting to support you to build your skills and gain direct experience in the classroom.
Once you have completed this study programme, you can progress into employment, an apprenticeship such as L3 Teaching Assistant or on to higher education.
