  • To assist participants to understand their roles and responsibilities in applying the principles in practice of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards

Course learning outcomes

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of staff
  • Understand the background to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Legislation
  • Understand the role of the Managing Authority and the Supervisory Body
  • Understand the roles involved including IMCA and Paid Representatives
  • Understand the Acid Test for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Understand the link between Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and safeguarding adults
