Course aims

• To familiarise participants with the principles, purpose and procedures of multi-agency risk assessment, multi-agency public protection arrangements and multi-agency tasking and co-ordination

Course learning outcomes

By the end of the session participants will:

• Understand the MARAC Process
• Understand how the various agencies contribute to MARAC
• Be able to recognise the underpinning legislation and principles
• Be able to apply the multi-agency Risk Indicator Checklist and make a referral
• Understand the meeting processes and contribute to the MARAC action planning process
• Understand the MAPPA processes in terms of management of sexual, violent and dangerous persons
• Understand the MATAC processes in terms of safeguarding adults and children at risk of domestic abuse and to help reduce the offending of domestic abuse perpetrators
