Course aims

  • To assist practitioners in developing their understanding of their roles and responsibilities in relation to child protection conferences with regard to the implementation of strengths based practice and what this means within the child protection process.
  • To strengthen the understanding of multi-agency partnerships in child protection

Course learning outcomes

By the end of the session participants will:

  • Understand the principles of strengths based practice
  • Be able to apply professional judgement in determining the threshold criteria
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of multi-agency partnership working in child protection
  • Understand their role in the conference process in relation to decision making
  • Have an increased awareness and understanding in applying strengths based principles within the child protection process
  • Value the contribution of multi-agency working and challenge when appropriate
