Overview

If you charge your electric vehicle at home, there are some rules you need to follow.

Charging points for electric vehicles are being installed in car parks across South Tyneside.

Charging points in South Tyneside are listed in the tables below.

For information about other charging points across the country visit the Charge Your Car website or phone the helpline on 0191 265 0500.

Charging at home

If you're charging your electric vehicle at home, you need to make sure that your cable is not dangerous to the public.

You should not lay your cable across the pavement or hang it overhead.

This includes covering your cable with a cable protector, ramp or any other trip hazard.

If somebody is injured by your cable, you could be held responsible.
