Whitburn Neighbourhood Plan

South Tyneside Council's Cabinet of 7 September 2022 has resolved that Whitburn Neighbourhood Plan be formally 'made' i.e. brought into legal force as part of the statutory Development Plan for South Tyneside.

This means that the Whitburn Neighbourhood Plan will be used to help decide planning applications in the Neighbourhood Area.

Regulation 19 Decision Statement

Before acceptance of the Neighbourhood Plan, a public consultation and independent examination of the draft plan took place. For more information see: Public consultation and independent examination of the Whitburn Neighbourhood Plan.

The Whitburn Neighbourhood Plan was then taken to a community referendum, which took place on 4 August 2022. See: Whitburn Neighbourhood Plan Referendum.
