Overview

Primrose Parks Alliance is a community group with a shared purpose; to make our parks and green space an environment we are all proud to enjoy.


Support available

  • Making sure Monkton Dene and Springwell parks are well-maintained, improved and developed which can enhance the quality of life for local people by improving their physical and mental health.
  • Monitoring plants, animals and wildlife habitats and maintain and improve its biodiversity.
  • Litter pick events to keep the areas clean and litter free encouraging the local community to take pride in their surroundings.
  • Identifying and progressing local maintenance issues with the correct agencies, authorities, environmental and charity groups.
  • Identifying partners, resource support and funding opportunities and engaging all stakeholders to educate, inspire and close any gaps where the appropriate agencies cannot fully support.
  • Working in partnership with local schools and youth groups to engage young people and promote a culture of caring for local community assets.
  • Volunteers to become Primrose Parks Rangers with small, dedicated areas for them to maintain and improve.
  • Developing and supporting the introduction of recycling, plastics, metals and green waste to minimise landfill.
