About this publication

This Employment Land Review was prepared by Lichfields and Lambert Smith Hampton.

It is intended to serve as an evidence based input into the production of South Tyneside Council's Local Plan, providing the authority with an understanding of:

  • The Borough's current position with respect to employment land supply
  • The anticipated future growth trajectory of the Borough's economy and the implications of this with respect to demand for employment land over the period 2020 to 2035

This publication was used to develop the draft Local Plan which was produced in 2022.

Following consultation on the Local Plan, in January 2024 we published a revised draft Local Plan and Employment Land Review.
