History

In 1910 Drewett Ormonde Drewett died childless leaving Jarrow Hall to his uncle's grandson, Alfred Henry Chaytor.

Alfred never lived in Jarrow, but in 1910 he donated part of the hall's estate to Jarrow Town Council as a public park in memory of Drewett Ormonde Drewett.

The park is a popular location and sits between the historic St Paul's Church and Monastic Site and the fascinating visitor attraction of Jarrow Hall.

Jarrow Hall House, overlooking the park, is now home to a lovely cafe.
