Overview

The extensive grounds at the crematorium consist of a wide variety of flower borders, trees and shrubs and provide a tranquil and peaceful setting for the memorial gardens.

Anyone can be cremated at South Shields Crematorium, irrespective of where they lived or their religious beliefs.

The chapel seats approximately 200, with capacity for 30 standing in the foyer.

There is further standing room outside under a canopy, with the service being relayed through external speakers. A waiting room and public toilets are also available.
