The people of South Tyneside are invited to step into the roaring 20s and enjoy an evening of entertainment while helping to raise cash for good causes.

The Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Pat Hay, and the Mayoress, Jean Copp, are inviting people to the Civic Ball, which is taking place on Saturday 14 May 2022, from 7pm until late, at Temple Park Centre, John Reid Road, South Shields.

This year's black-tie event takes on a 1920's 'Great Gatsby' theme. Tickets cost £40 each and include a fizz reception, three course meal with wine and fabulous entertainment from Paul James Band, plus many surprises throughout the night.

Fundraising activities will also take place on the evening, with proceeds going towards the Mayor's Charity, which is supporting The Customs House and Cancer Connections, among other good causes.

The Mayor said: "The Mayoress and I are really looking forward to the Civic Ball. We would love the people of South Tyneside to join us for what will be an excellent evening.

"Guests will be able to enjoy a delicious evening meal, followed by fantastic music and a disco. It is sure to be a wonderful night with the opportunity to get all dressed up, have fun with family, friends and colleagues and help to support the Mayor's Charity fund."
