Anti-social behaviour

Overview

Anti-social behaviour is behaviour by a person which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons not of the same household as the person.

Anti-social behaviour covers a wide range of unacceptable activity including, but not limited to:

  • Nuisance, rowdy or inconsiderate neighbours
  • Littering or dumping rubbish
  • Shouting or noisy behaviour in places where this might be annoying or upsetting
  • Using rude, abusive or insulting language
  • Threatening behaviour or bullying
  • Excessively drinking alcohol, alcohol-related trouble or buying and selling drugs

Community Trigger Requests

Victims and communities experiencing Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) can request a review of their case to bring agencies together to find a solution.

This is known as a Community Trigger, or an Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Review.

It is an important safety net for victims and communities experiencing anti-social behaviour.
