Volunteer It Yourself
What they offer
Volunteer It Yourself help young people learn trade skills and boost their employability whilst renovating valuable community spaces. They'll be helping to improve spaces for Jarrow Sea Cadets and the outdoor NECA community garden.
At each site, volunteers will work alongside professional tradespeople and work towards an Entry Level 3 City and Guilds skills qualification, whilst also boosting their work-readiness and broader employability skills.
The projects will allow the venues to:
- benefit more people / new audiences and become more inclusive and sustainable
- encourage young people to develop new skills, improve their work
- prompt more people to volunteer in their community
- allow residents to become active in the community
