24GEN03 - Improving Grammar Subject Knowledge in KS1

Content:

Do you need to refresh and secure key grammar subject knowledge in KS1?  This session will reinforce existing knowledge while also ensuring that you are familiar with current terminology used in the teaching of grammar.  By ensuring that you are confident and secure in your grasp of grammar this will build a strong foundation for consistent support as pupils develop skills in the effective analysis and use of language.  Content covered includes:

• An introduction to word classes & KS1 grammar terminology
• The grammar of sentence construction
• Grammar resources - practical activities & games to use back in class

Expected Impact on Schools:

• All practitioners will gain a secure understanding of the expectations of the KS1 Grammar Curriculum
