From Recurring Dreams to Reality - Author Chat with Jackie Watson at Jarrow Focus
Come along to Jarrow Focus Library as we welcome author Jackie Watson. Jackie will discuss her book Apokeri Bay, inspired by a recurring dream about a feisty Geordie lass who falls in love with a fishing village full of secrets.
About Jackie Watson
Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Jackie has lived most of her life in various parts of the North East with a few extended travel trips thrown in for good measure. Home is now a former pit village in the Tyne Valley and if she isn't working or writing, you'll find her striding about the countryside with her partner and their chatty Miniature Schnauzer. Alternatively, she'll be pottering in the allotment, running or planning an adventure.
About Apokeri Bay
Apokeri Bay is set on the Greek island of Lefkada and was inspired by a recurring dream about a feisty Geordie lass who falls in love with a fishing village full of secrets. With a unique style, Jackie weaves into her storytelling what we all love about great fiction - the chance to step into the world of somebody else and share in their life. But she certainly doesn't give her characters an easy life. They might discover life-changing friendships, love and hope but need to overcome family friction, dark secrets, guilt and betrayal. Ultimately, they must learn how to embrace and overcome everything life throws at them.
