The spectacular fireworks displays return for Bonfire Night again this year, on Sunday 3 November.

South Tyneside Council alongside Ocean Beach Pleasure Park are bringing back the spectacular firework displays for everyone to enjoy along the seafront, on Sunday 3 November.

The event is sponsored by The New Sundial and is free of charge.

There are two firework displays:

  • 6.30pm - Heroes and Villains theme
  • 8pm - Orchestral Spectacular theme: An electrifying fusion of orchestral music and fireworks, this spectacular display synchronises iconic tracks like 'Sandstorm' and 'Gangsta's Paradise' with breath-taking bursts of light and colour, creating an unforgettable experience!

People can also enjoy outdoor rides, food stands serving up tasty dishes, hot chocolates and hot doughnuts.

The fireworks will be set from the area behind the skatepark on Sea Road, but there are many vantage points across the seafront where you can enjoy the fireworks from a distance.

Remember to be considerate to our neighbours when parking. Please use our seafront or town centre car parks. Additional car parking will be available in Bents Park. Although we encourage visitors to use public transport, for motorists looking for parking information visit South Tyneside car park locations.

There will be temporary road diversions in place, including a one-way system on the lower part of Beach Road, no entry except buses from Sea Road to Beach Road and several no right turns. Roads are likely to be busy so please allow plenty of time for travel and parking.

Visitors should not bring any of their own fireworks or sparklers and are advised to leave dogs at home.

Please note, this event is weather permitting.
