Health and Wellbeing Drop-In
A Christmas Health and Wellbeing drop-in is being held next week in South Tyneside.
The event, organised by the a better u champions network, will be held at Cleadon Park Library on Monday 19 December between 10am and 1pm.
A wealth of information will be available to people on how to stay well and healthy while the new-look 12 Ways to Christmas leaflet will be available to take away. The leaflet outlines tips on how to get through the festive season, including information on Warm Spaces and cost of living support.
A leaflet with useful emergency contact numbers, details of food banks open during the festive period and advice on seeking medical care will also be available.
The Dam Jammers ukulele group will be at the event performing Christmas songs. There will also be tea, coffee and mince pies for all to enjoy.
Councillor Anne Hetherington, Lead Member for Adults, Health and Wellbeing, said: "Christmas is a time of joy but it is important that people know where to go for advice and support over the holidays when normal services aren't always available.
"It's also important to make sure you continue to look after yourself and others over the holidays. The 12 Ways to Christmas leaflet offers sensible advice on eating and drinking, exercise and sleep as well as top tips to make the most of the festive season.
"As this is the first Christmas drop-in we've been able to hold since the pandemic, I'd encourage everyone to come along."
Keeping people well and healthy throughout their lives is one of the Council's ambitions.
