About this course

This training course is for those who work with children and their families and want to understand more about the impact of sexual exploitation.


Aims

The aim of the course is to offer participants an opportunity to develop their understanding of sexual abuse and those who abuse. 


Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session participants will be able to:

  • Define sexual exploitation, gang-associated sexual exploitation and sexual violence in a context of current research and policy
  • Identify the typical indicators of sexual exploitation in children and young people and know and apply the appropriate responses
  • Describe how young people are groomed for exploitation
  • Understand the CSE risk assessment tool
  • Understand and are aware of effective information sharing
  • Understand and describe the Return Home Interview process

This course is ran by Russ Saunders, Learning and Development Advisor / Member of the multi-agency Pool of Trainers.


Who can attend

Anyone working with children, adults and families in South Tyneside can apply for a place.
