Overview
Your Voice Counts is a charity that works across the North East to provide support to people with learning disabilities, autism and people who are at risk of exclusion due to disability, illness or other challenges.
Support available
Your Voice Counts are the provider of statutory and community advocacy services in South Tyneside. These services help people to be involved in their important life decisions (including their care, treatment and housing plans), making sure their wishes are heard and their rights are upheld.
They also design and deliver a range of community-based services for people with learning disabilities and autism, that empower them to improve their personal circumstances and work towards helping their health and wellbeing.
South Tyneside advocacy services
The following advocacy services are available in South Tyneside:
- Advocacy for people with learning disabilities
- Care Act Advocacy
- Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA)
- Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)
- Relevant Person's Representative Service (RPR)
South Tyneside Communities services
The Communities team works with people who are over the age of 18 with learning disabilities and autism. They run weekly drop in groups at locations across South Tyneside as well as providing 1-2-1 services to help people develop skills, confidence and be part of the community.
