Market Position Statement for Support and Independence
How the Council is moving away from traditional models of service.
The Market Position Statement for Support and Independence outlines the Council's intention to continue to move away from traditional models of service to more flexible, personalised and responsive provision.
It is designed to encourage communication and understanding between the Council, CCG, key stakeholders and providers.
It is to be used to speed up the arrival of a more diverse and personalised provider market over the next 3 years and contains information on needs, demands and trends.
The Market Position Statement is aimed at providers of services for public health, children, young people and adults. This also includes small voluntary and community sector organisations.
The Council is working with South Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group to make sure a co-ordinated and strategic approach to joint commissioning across a range of health and care services. The Market Position Statement will support the development of stronger relationships with providers to ensure services continue to meet the needs of our most vulnerable people.
Our main commissioning and market development priorities for the next 3 years are:
- Public health
- Children and Young People
- Physical and Sensory Disabilities / Disorders
- Mental Health
- Learning Disabilities and Autism
- Older people
- Carers
- Advocacy support
