Overview
South Tyneside Family Hubs offer welcoming and friendly places where all children, young people, parents and carers can access support, information and help.
We are here for your whole family and will support you as your children grow, putting relationships at the heart of everything we do.
We are here to connect you to the right support, with the right person at a time that suits you.
Family Hubs provide a range of services in the local community, working with families to ensure that services meet the needs of infants, children, young people and parents and carers in the borough.

Who Family Hubs are for
Family Hubs are for every family living in South Tyneside.
Services are provided from conception through to 19 years and up to 25 years for young people with additional needs.
What Family Hubs provide
A wide range of professionals will be located at the hubs to provide a single point of access.
We work in partnership to bring together a wide range of services for children, young people and families including:
- free activities for children and young people
- parenting support
- relationship programmes
- infant feeding support
- weekly groups
- mental health support
- early language support
Family Hubs also offer online and virtual services and sessions, so that support can be as accessible as possible for everyone.

Start for life
In South Tyneside we are committed to giving every child a great start in life.
The first 1001 days are critical in a baby's life and our Start for Life offer makes sure support is available from day one until the child turns 2 years old.

Online courses
Free online courses supporting emotional health and wellbeing for all parents, carers, grandparents and teens living in the region.
This includes:
- Antenatal and postnatal baby bonding
- Understanding your child or young person
- Your child or young person with additional needs
- Teenager's feelings and brain development
- More specialist courses

If you are a professional wanting to make a referral for any of the programmes, please complete a request a service form.
Support with family life (Early Help)
Early Help in South Tyneside is a family-orientated intervention that works closely with families to provide the right support at the right time.
You can ask for Early Help support, or this may be suggested by someone who you are in contact with like a health visitor, teacher, or GP.
